My Story

Hi! I’m Naomi, the baker behind SunCity Sourdough Co.

What started as a curiosity quickly turned into a hobby I couldn't stop. I fell in love with the process of making sourdough.  From feeding a starter to pulling a fresh loaf out of the oven—and before long, I was baking far more bread than I could ever eat myself.

So, I decided to share it.

SunCity Sourdough Co. is a small San Diego micro-bakery where every loaf is handcrafted, naturally fermented, and baked in small batches. My hope is that you'll enjoy eating it as much as I enjoy making it. Chester was here.

The name SunCity Sourdough Co. comes from my hometown of El Paso, Texas. No matter where life takes me, El Paso will always be home, so it felt right to include a little piece of it in something I'm building from the ground up.

As a veteran-owned, woman-owned, and Latina-owned small business based in San Diego, I'm excited to share my bread at local markets and with anyone who appreciates a fresh, homemade loaf.
